Whether you’re looking for a night cap near Yonsei, Ehwa, or Sogang, or it’s your first time in Sinchon and are looking to explore, there are many great bars in the neighborhood that you can visit. The area may not be as touristy and popular as the neighboring Hongdae (which many may find more appealing), but the youthful district of Sinchon is one of the best places in Seoul for some drinks and pure fun. Here are the top hole-in-the-walls worth visiting:
1. The Liquid Bar

The Liquid is a low-key lounge bar in Sinchon that offers an intimate setting and an affordable selection of food, wine, beer, and liquor. As soon as you climb down the stairs, you’ll notice the cozy seating areas, great music, the dart wall, and the foreign currencies hanging on the bar ceiling (The friendly owners let me see it, and I found at least 15 currencies, including Singaporean dollars, US dollars, Philippine pesos, and Canadian dollars!).
To start, have the bar’s signature Marinated Cherry Tomatoes or Cheese Platter, which you can pair with a glass of wine, beer, or soju. If you don’t like alcohol that much, you can also get a good cup coffee here!
The Liquid is also open until 2am on weekdays and 4am on weekends, so you won’t have to worry about cutting the time short with your company!
