1. Gyeongbokgung or Gyeongbok Palace
Gyeongbokgung is the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty. It’s located at the heart of Seoul and has the beautiful Bugaksan (mountain) as its background. With your mobile Discover Seoul Pass, you can enter this important attraction where the king presided over his subjects and maintained legislative affairs.

2. Changdeokgung or Changdeok Palace

Changdeokgung was built in 1405 during the reign of King Taejong. It was the second royal villa after Gyeongbokgung, but it was destroyed during the Japanese invasion in 1592-1598. The site was restored 12 years after under the reign of Prince Gwanghae. (In 1997, Changdeokgung was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which reinforces the “outstanding universal value” that the attraction has.)

3. Changgyeonggung or Changgyeong Palace
Changgyeonggung is another royal palace that you can visit with your mobile Discover Seoul Pass. This historical attraction has its own Western-style conservatory and greenhouse that was built in 1909. If you do not have the time to visit Changgyeonggung while your Discover Seoul Pass is still active, you can still enter it for free anytime provided that you wear a hanbok.

4. Deoksugung or Deoksu Palace

Originally a private residence of a royalty, Deoksugung has become another historical palace in Korea that is considered unique for its seal engravings and Western-style garden. The Changing of the Royal Guards show here can be viewed in front of Daehanmun and is considered a very popular event for many visitors.

5. Jongmyo (Royal Shrine)
Majestic and solemn. This is how you can describe Jongmyo or the Royal Shrine, which is a historical attraction in Korea that you can visit with the mobile Discover Seoul Pass. Jongmyo is where the spirit tablets of previous kings and queens are placed traditionally, so the new successors used to come to this place to pay tribute to the deceased.

This attraction presents artworks that were created using a traditional art technique called Trompe-l’oeil (literally translated as “trick of the eye”), which makes 2D paintings appear 3D. On the other hand, the museum’s Dynamic Maze adventure is a unique, cross-dimensional installation where participants must work together to overcome obstacles and challenges.

11. Hanboknam
What’s a trip to Korea without getting to wear the country’s traditional costume? At Hanboknam Gyeongbokgung Branch, holders of the Discover Seoul Pass will get free rental of their favorite hanbok for 90 minutes! With a hanbok on, you can visit Gyeongbokgung (again!) for free and have an enjoyable photo-taking session.

- If you want to extend the duration of your hanbok rental, you’ll have to pay Hanboknam the hourly rate of ₩5,000 (around $4.4) for a traditional hanbok or ₩10,000 (around $8.8) for a themed hanbok.

12. COEX Aquarium

COEX Aquarium is a world-class themed attraction where education meets entertainment.
