A good friend told me that one of the best attractions to visit in Gangneung is Haslla Art World, so I made sure not to miss it on my first trip to the coastal municipality. While I’m generally not the type to visit museums when I take a trip, I must say that I enjoyed the time that I spent here. Seeing Haslla Art World from afar made me quite excited, and touring the expansive space (around 27 acres in total) only got me more excited! The vibe is very low-key on weekdays, which makes it a great place for taking photos — and take a lot of pictures I did!

For reference, the regular admission to Haslla Art World costs ₩10,000 or $9.3, but you can save some money when you book online here. After you get your voucher, you just have to present it at the ticket booth to collect your physical ticket.

Anyway, here some of the things that I love about Haslla Art World Museum in Gangneung:

1. Dramatic backdrop of the ocean

The concept or theme of Haslla Art World Museum is art meets nature, which, I think, has been executed in the best way possible. Aside from wide decks that allow for nature sightseeing, the interior of the gallery is filled with spaces where you can take a glimpse of the beautiful nature in Gangneung.

2. Art pieces that impress

As a temple of art, Haslla Art World Museum definitely impressed. I like the variation of the different spaces and pieces, which is capable of delighting guests with varying tastes. There are a lot of themed exhibits (permanent and otherwise) as well as gardens here, but what stood out to me most was the Pinocchio & Marionette Museum!

If you’re ever taking a trip to Gangneung, especially if it’s your first time, I’d really recommend spending an hour or two at the Haslla Art World! It’s a very worthwhile attraction to visit, especially for nature and art aficionados!
